Bard

The Bard class is a music class, from the Thorium mod. This class uses the power of music to harm enemies and support allies, the weapons are all instruments. This class is more of a support class since all the instruments give minor buffs. This class also uses inspiration, which is like mana for the bard, that can recharge, and be increased. The buffs last for a little bit and can support allies too, Which is why it is recommended that you play in multiplayer. This class has a mechanic for big instruments, called a timing mechanic. When you hold a big instrument, a timer will appear, and an arrow will go left and right, and the attacks can be strong or weak depending on whether you hit a specific "window" in the timer. If you can successfully time your attacks, the attacks become powerful. This may all sound confusing, but it isn't that hard really. This class is pretty fun and played by a lot of people, and it's recommended that you use a lot of weapons, to get a lot of buffs.

Timer

As you can see on the right, the Timer has an arrow, which cycles between the 2 areas. The yellow area is the normal area, and the green area is the powered area.

Timing the attack on the yellow area, will result in a basic attack, and use of inspiration. While Timing the attack on the green area, will result in a more powered attack, and use of inspiration. Note that if you don't time your attacks, you won't be able to just spam the attacks like crazy, so timing is important when it comes to this.

There are not a lot of big instruments so you don't have to worry about this too much, but timing the attacks is still worth it.

Armor

The armor in this class is all musician-themed and focuses on giving buffs to your weapons. As well as increased inspiration regeneration, and empowerment. Some of the armors have abilities, but most don't. Here are some examples.

This is Rhapsodist armor, a really good endgame bard armor. This armor pretty much focuses entirely on inspiration, increased inspiration, increased inspiration regeneration, and all of that. There are 2 headwear, one that increases defense and inspiration, and one that doesn't have the best defense but increases spiriation damage by a lot. This armor also has 2 abilities depending on the headwear, which grants endless inspiration, and the other one buffs all other allies.

This is Marching Band armor, the first hard-mode bard armor set. This armor gives a cool buff, in which music notes will spawn and follow the player on the back. The notes can technically pierce through enemies, as long as you go through them, and stun them, but it doesn't work on bosses. It may not be a crazy ability, but it is still pretty good. The armor does give a bunch of other buffs like increased damage, inspiration regeneration, and all other stuff like that.

Weapons

All the weapons in this class are instruments, all use inspiration, and all make a sound when you attack with them. All the weapons also give minor buffs, that last depending on what buff it is. There is a difference between each type of weapon, other than the instrument family, certain weapons like string weapons are mainly guitars, which shoot out projectiles, and wind weapons shoot out "toots", and other weapons shoot out different projectiles that are similar to the rest of the instrument family.

Brass

Here is the Sousaphone, an endgame brass bard weapon. This weapon just shoots a giant laser that pierces and takes a lot of inspiration. Most brass weapons shoot out projectiles, but not lasers, some do, but this is not exactly a common type of attack that this class has. It's more projectile-based. Brass weapons give Attack speed, Critical strike chance, Damage, and Flat Damage buffs.

Percussion

This is The Set, a pretty good endgame Percussion bard weapon. This weapon fires out projectiles, and if timed, the projectiles are bigger and pierce. Most of the weapons from this family shoot out projectiles like this, this family mainly fires single projectiles. Percussion weapons give Aquatic Ability, Flight time, Jump height, and Movement speed buffs.

String

This is the Thunderstruck and a pretty good String bard weapon. Right-clicking spawns an amp at the cursor position, which can create a ball of electricity and shoot out lightning at the cursor, Left-clicking performs the basic thunder attack. This class is mainly guitars, so all weapons have a similar attack. String weapons give Damage reduction, Defense, Invincibility frames, and life regeneration buffs.

Wind

This is the Holophonor, a pretty good Wind bard weapon. This weapon fires "toots" which can home onto enemies, and do not do the best damage. Most wind weapons are like this, and fire out streams or "toots" which can sometimes home on enemies, but these weapons don't deal the best damage. Wind weapons give Maximum resource, resource consumption chance, resource grab range, and resource regeneration buffs.

Electronic

This is the Black MIDI, an endgame Electronic bard weapon. This weapon is like a machine gun for the bard class that fires "noise" super fast. Most of the weapons in the Electronic family are somewhat like this, they fire fast, use a lot of inspiration, and are like a machine gun. Electronic weapons give only the Empowerment Prolongation buff.

Conclusion

That's what you need to know about the Bard class. The class is pretty fun to play, It can be complicated, and better to be played with friends, but still it's pretty good. The only drawback that this class has is the inspiration, and how this class may not deal enough damage. But still, this class is pretty powerful and is recommended by a lot of people to be played. But then again, this class is better played with friends, since it can give buffs and empowerments to allies as well, Not just you. Oftentimes, people don't even care about how this class gives buffs, and may not deal enough damage, the only thing to worry about is the inspiration, since using some weapons can drain the inspiration fast. Still an awesome class, a bit complicated but fun.
