Welcome to the Terraria Classes Guide

Terraria has a variety of classes to choose from, you have your simple 4 classes: Melee, Ranger, Mage, and Summoner. But when you go modded, there can be endless classes to choose from. Well, maybe not endless but still a lot. Modded Terraria can add in a lot, from new items, mechanics, bosses, biomes, sometimes quality of life stuff, and sometimes even new classes.
Sometimes classes can be complicated, and have weird weapons and mechanics that don't make sense.

This site will explain some of the more well-known classes, including the classic ones, as well as modded ones. This site is more of a guide for classes, but not class progression. Note that this site will not cover every modded class out there, but only the more well-known ones.

Click on the Boxes at the top of the class column to go to a page to find more information on the specific class. Keep in mind that the Pages include examples of armor, weapons, and a simple explanation for the class.

Vanilla

As said before, Terraria has 4 main classes: Melee, Ranger, Mage, and Summoner. All these classes are very simple and not complicated at all. Each class has a weakness, a strength, a point where it's "op", and a point where it's tough for the class. As you progress through bosses, you unlock more items, abilities, weapons, and all that which helps you and can make the class you choose to play more fun and complicated. Like Being able to use arrows that bounce and bullets that home on enemies, or being able to set enemies on fire, or something else like that.

Modded

When it comes to Modded Terraria, things can go 2 ways: Vanilla, or New Experience. Vanilla is just adding new content that feels very Vanilla, and New Experience and adding in content that doesn't feel like terraria and feels completely different. When it comes to Modded classes, they have a similar approach to vanilla classes, by giving Strengths and Weaknesses, points in the game where it's good and not, and certain abilities. Things can also get crazy. Some mods can add basic classes like Healer or Assassin, while some can add More advanced classes like Rogue, Bard, or something like that. There are multiple Modded classes, but here are 8 of them. Some may be well-known, but some may not be known so much anymore.

Conclusion

That's about all you need to know about Terraria classes, the vanilla ones, and some of the modded ones too. This is not all the Modded classes, because there are endless modded classes out there in the modded world. Many are underrated, and these 8 ones are the more well-known ones that are still known today or were known back then. Terraria's classes are pretty simple, but modded ones are more complicated, and all these classes are worth checking out since they are all unique, and all are cool. Not every class may be for you, everyone has a preference, something they like, something they don't, and in the end, you just play which class you want to.
