Rogue

The Rogue class is like an Assassin class, which is from the Calamity Mod. This class focuses on throwing daggers, spears, bombs, and anything rogue-like. A cool mechanic this class adds is the "Stealth Strike", which is just a more powerful attack of a weapon. The stealth strike increases the damage and adds a cool new effect to the weapon. Like for example, when you throw a Dagger, the dagger falls at some point. But with the stealth strike, the damage is increased greatly, and the dagger keeps going in a straight line and pierces. The downside is how long it takes to charge the strike, It can be done while moving, but standing still charges it faster, and you can't attack while charging the strike. But other than that, it's a pretty fun class to play as it doesn't get played too much due to the stealth strike, but it's very fun, and fits the calamity lore very well. The defense of the class is decent, not terrible, but okay, and the accessories mainly focus on the stealth strike and charging it faster.

Stealth Strike

A Stealth Strike deals 10% more damage which can be increased, causes a decrease in attack speed by 20% due to it charging, and also increases critical strike chance by 12% and projectile velocity by 25%.

Stealth strikes cause the rogue weapon to perform a more powerful attack, which can be very good in the endgame. Some multiple accessories and armor can increase the damage, reduce the charging, and make stealth strikes worth using. There are some accessories like the coin of deceit, or ruin medallion that increase the stealth strike damage and recharge. Most people ignore the stealth strikes until they get to post moon lord or endgame.

On the right is an example of a stealth strike being used with the Stormfront razor.

Armor

Armor in this class is all rogue-like, and all gives the stealth strike mechanic, without rogue armor, you can't do a stealth strike. The armor doesn't have a terrible defense, but you still wouldn't want to get hit. Here are some examples.

This is Empyrean armor, a post-moon lord rogue armor. This armor does give the stealth strike and adds a bonus effect that can release projectiles when using the stealth strike. All the projectiles are random and have different effects. This armor also gives Empyrean wrath and rage, which activates when the player has low health, Which increases the damage and critical hit chances. This armor is just the rogue version of the solar armor or any other post-moon lord armor.

This is Titan Heart Armor, a pretty good armor for the rogue class when you enter hard mode for the first time. This armor may not give any major buffs or add-ons, but it is really good. This armor gives weapons a chance to inflict the astral infection debuff, and the stealth strike gives a small astral explosion when a weapon hits an enemy. It also gives a chance not to consume rogue consumable weapons, but no one uses consumables.

Weapons

Weapons in this class are all rogue-like, which include bombs, disks, spears, and even spiky balls. All the weapons in this class have a stealth strike, and all involve you throwing the weapon. The damage may not seem so good at first, but once you start using stealth strikes, the damage gets insane. Most people don't use the stealth strikes until the endgame, since by then you unlock a lot of accessories and potions to help you with stealth strikes. Some weapons are a little weird too, but most are simple.

Bombs

This is the Ballistic Poison Bomb, a non-consumable bomb from the rogue class. This bomb explodes when it hits an enemy and inflicts venom, the bomb also leaves behind poison clouds and shoots out spikes that can hit enemies and deal even more damage. The stealth strike just throws 3 bombs instead of one, which can deal a lot more damage.

Boomerangs

This is the elemental disk, an upgrade to the Terra Blade Rogue weapon version. You throw the disk at a short range and it comes back to you. The disk does have a chance to disappear when thrown, which is fine since it's not consumable. The stealth strike causes the next disk to travel slower but faster, pierce through enemies, and spawn extra disks as it traveling.

Daggers

This is the Malachite, a really good and interesting rogue weapon. This dagger can be thrown rapidly and create a "stream" of Malachites which stick to enemies and explode by left clicking. Or you can throw one Malachite which pierces, goes in a straight line, and explodes after hitting another enemy. The stealth strike throws 3 Malachites that home onto enemies.

Javelins

This is the Elicpse's Fall, a pretty good javelin. Javelins are thrown straight and deal great damage, the only downside is how it require aim. This weapon is thrown fast and pierces. The stealth strike throws the next javelin and attaches to enemies, and the speed is slower but summons a ton of spears from above and below to home on the target.

Spiky Balls

This is the Nychthemeron, a very weird spiky ball. This spiky ball is not consumable, but it works weirdly. It throws 10 spiky balls that ignore gravity, and disappear at some point, and only 10 can be thrown, so you have to wait until some either hit, or you have to recall them by right-clicking. The stealth strike throws all 10 spiky balls at once.

Conclusion

That's what you need to know about the Rogue class. This class is pretty cool and adds to the calamity lore, and progression. However, this class is overlooked, since a lot of people just see it as an assassin class or a throwing melee class. The stealth strikes are an interesting add-on to this class, and some stealth strikes are cool and worth it, while some are not. This class is pretty complicated, but simple, and is often used by a lot of endgame players. But in short terms, this class is like the Assassin class, a class that focuses on damage, and not defense. If you are someone who dodges well, then this class is for you completely, but most people play the other classes since calamity adds a lot of other stuff to other classes.
